The group
meets regularly once a
month on Thursdays at 42 Bowfell Drive, but more often at busy times of
the year when we are preparing for a sale of cards and other gifts.
There are 8 in the group, most of whom do cross stitch but some prefer
tapestry, embroidery on painted silk and other crafts.
We have sales of cards about twice a year and with the
proceeds we
are able to buy more materials for future sales. We also make special
cards for special occasions but for these we require a month's notice.
Twice a year we visit the Stitch and Creative Crafts Show in
the
Manchester G-Mex to buy materials and get some ideas for future
projects.
On Wednesday 10th November the
Needlework Group had a sale of Christmas cards which raised over £40 for our funds. We also held a
raffle of hand made items and several donated gifts which raised
£92 for the Alzheimer's Society and the Ticker Club at
Wythenshawe Hospital. We made the total up to £100 so each organisation has received £50
